Plot Outline:Adapted from the novel by John Grisham, A TIME TO KILL is the story of a black man's struggle for justice for himself and his family in America today. After Carl Lee's 10-year-old daughter, Tonya is brutally raped he recalls the case of "four white boys who raped a black girl over in Delta last year." He asks attorney Jake Brigance, "They got off, didn't they?" Jake nods his head. Determined to see that the two rapists get what's coming to them, Carl Lee takes the law into his own hands and guns them down in cold blood inside the courthouse on the day of their arraignments. Young Jake, struggling to keep his law practice afloat, suddenly finds himself defending Carl Lee against murder charges a not-so-popular position with some of the locals in Clanton, Mississippi. Ellen Roark, a stellar law student from Ole Miss, offers her services to Jake just for the opportunity to help with the case and eventually convinces him to take her on. In the meantime, the K.K.K. (at the prompting of a brother of one of the rapists) plants burning crosses on Jake's lawn, attempts to bomb his house, and takes a shot at him. To ensure their safety, Jake sends his wife and little daughter to Gulfport to stay with his in-laws. As tension in Canton reaches fever pitch and the N.A.A.C.P. and K.K.K. riot on the courthouse lawn, a different kind of tension rises between Jake and Ellen.

Synopsis

Synopsis

[C-Moive] In Love With The Dead (2008)

The title is a dead giveaway that something is amiss, but director Danny Pang keeps the audience guessing to the end in his latest supernatural suspense In Love with the Dead. Another signature work from the prolific masters of horror, this Pang Brothers production pairs two of Hong Kong's brightest young stars, box office favorite Stephy Tang (Love is Not All Around) and heartthrob Shawn Yue (Infernal Affairs 2) for their first collaboration since Feel 100% 2003. The auteurs of atmosphere strike the perfect combination of eerie lighting, moody music, and austere art design to tell a horrifying, yet heartfelt story of extreme love. Though still dealing with inner and outer ghosts, the film's balance of melodrama and macabre is markedly different from the Pangs' previous works, showing that the brothers are constantly redefining their arsenal and the genre in the process. In Love with the Dead's young leads deliver performances that are genuinely chilling and touching, with Stephy Tang in particular making a breakthrough in her acting. The film also co-stars newcomer Yoka Yue and talented child actress Zeng Qiqi from Re-cycle, as well as Patrick Tam (Beast Cops), television star Raymond Cho, and veteran actress Kiki Sheung (The Detective).

When Wai (Stephy Tang) is diagnosed with cancer, her loving boyfriend Ming (Shawn Yue) does everything he can to care for her. Along with Wai's little sister Ping (Zeng Qiqi), the family of three try to face the hardships together with brave faces. But as Wai's health slowly deteriorates, her temperament becomes volatile, her actions odd and unnerving, reminding Ping of the ghost stories she likes to read. Bowing to the pressure, Ming takes solace in the company of his heartbroken co-worker Fong (Yoka Yue), forming a painful triangle for all involved. One rainy night, Wai disappears briefly and both Ming and Fong meet accidents. Afterwards, Wai, Fong, and even Ming himself act increasingly strange. Ming begins to suspect that not everyone returned home safely that night.

Synopsis :

Young-mi is psychologically a big girl, too. She falls into a deep sense of loss and disappointment when she a callous (yes, male) doctor tells her that her menopause is the cause of her latest mood swings. Undaunted, she keeps her chin up, and tries not to lose her control when dealing with her sexual partner who wants to have an emotional tug of war.

Young-mi’s cute daughter, Kang-ae, is depicted as a cute seductress. She wonders why her boyfriend has not attempted to kiss her in the past three years, and one of her close friends rightly suggests that he might be gay. Kang-ae is not a sit-and-wait type, so she sets up a private meeting, in her own house, and ventures to initiate what she thinks will be the most erotic moment in her life, only to find that something goes embarrassingly wrong…

My Review :

The emperor was hurt in battle and killed by one of the rebel generals. The the princess (Kelly Chen) takes the throne, the general broke into two teams, one led by the murderer and the other lead by the princess's childhood friend (Donny Yuen). This movie is a mixture of war battles, romance (yup, Kelly and Leon Lai) and internal vendetta. Good fighting scenes and good sex scenes too. If you want only fights, see The Warlords.

My Rating : 8.0 out of 10. A Must see.

Horton Hears a Who! (also known as Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!) is a 2008 CGI animated film based on the book of the same name and the fourth feature film from Blue Sky Studios. It was the first Dr. Seuss adaptation fully animated using CGI technology.

The film was directed by Jimmy Hayward and Steve Martino, based on a screenplay written by Ken Daurio and Cinco Paul. The film was produced by Bob Gordon, Audrey Geisel, Christopher Meledandri and Chris Wedge. Christian Kaplan was the casting director and music was provided by John Powell. This is the second film to feature both Jim Carrey, as the voice of Horton the elephant, and Steve Carell, who provides the voice of the Mayor of Whoville. One of the Mayor's daughters' is voiced by Selena Gomez. This also marks the second Dr. Seuss adaptation to feature Jim Carrey in a lead role, the first being How The Grinch Stole Christmas!.

Summary/Review

Seon-hwa (Ha Ji-min, Swallow, Daejanggeum) is a new student at an elite medical school. Along with a typical bunch of slasher-flick's-potential-victim cast members, including Ki-beom the Boyfriend (O Tae-gyung), the Nerd (Soy), the Fatso (Moon Won-ju), the Slut (Chae Yun-seo) and the Weirdo (On Joo-wan), she is initiated into a harrowing dissection class, overseen by arrogant hard-butt Dr. Han (Jo Min-ki), nicknamed the Engineer. She notices an attractive cadaver with a rose tattoo on her breast, but thinks little of it, until her classmates begin to be murdered one by one. Apparently the perp is highly skilled in surgical techniques (the victims are discovered with hearts removed). Soon it is uncovered that Seon-hwa's friends are sharing a nightmare involving a really ticked-off-looking one-eyed surgeon. Convinced that the dead woman with the rose tattoo has something to do with supernatural goings-on, Seon-hwa and Ki-beom start an investigation to uncover her identity.

One Missed Call 2 (Chakushin ari 2) (2005) - DVDRIP

PLOT:

After a series of mysterious deaths in Japan a couple head to Taiwan
where they discover a dark secret about the death of a young girl.
Despite some solid scares and creepy atmosphere this is a poor sequel.
The plot is far too confusing and becomes more and more difficult to follow.
It misses Takashi Miike's direction which really helped the first film, and
it suffers greatly in comparison.
